Congratulations, mama bear! You made it through the marathon of pregnancy, labor, and delivery. But now, you have a new challenge: taking care of a tiny human while recovering from birth. Step 1: Get a basket

First things first, you need a basket. You can get a cute and colorful one or keep it simple with a classic brown one. You can also use a tote bag, a drawer, or whatever you happen to have around the house. Find simple baskets on Amazon like the ones below:

Step 2: Stock up on essentials

Fill your postpartum basket with all the things you might need. Think of things that will help you take care of your baby and yourself. You can add things like diapers and Organic Diaper Balm, wipes, Organic Nipple Butter, breast pads, cute Frida Mom Kits, maternity pads, Lip Balm, pain relievers, baby clothes, burp cloths, pacifiers, a cute Mama Mug and snacks just for starters. Step 3: Organize your basket

Keep things organized and easy to access. Use small bags, pouches or even small containers to keep different items separate. Label the containers so that you can easily find what you need when you need it. Keep the most important things on top of your basket, so they are within reach.

Step 4: Keep it handy

The postpartum basket should be easy to access. Preferably, keep it near your bed or wherever you will be spending most of your time with your little one. It should be within arms reach to grab out anytime.

Step 5: Keep updating

The postpartum journey is different for everyone. Depending on what you think you need, keep updating your basket regularly with new items that are helpful for your situation. If you need a particular cream, note it down and add it to the list of things to buy.

Recap:

A postpartum basket can save you time and energy. You won’t worry about running up and downstairs or to other parts of your house looking for some item you need. You’ll have everything all in one place to make your postpartum journey as smooth as possible. Sitting down to nurse or snuggle with your newborn doesn’t have to be a frantic hunt for baby supplies. You can just reach for your trusty basket by your side. Making a postpartum basket can be a fun activity for friends to do for a mom-to-be at a baby shower or something you can put together yourself anytime during your pregnancy. It’s time to sit back, relax in, and enjoy your new mom life with a little help from your trusty postpartum basket.
