Groggy waking up in the morning to get my workout done before my little man is awake (I don’t have much time), I’m all flustered and can’t figure out what I want to do for my workout. I typically scroll through my Peloton app and pick what sounds good, with no rhyme or reason. A few weeks ago, I decided to give myself a little more structure to my workouts during the week. I really wanted to make a point to through in some meditation and yoga, plus ensure I am hitting all my body parts with strength and making sure I have some HIIT cardio sprinkled in because that’s were I see the best results (for my body). Having a Peloton workout schedule helped me beef up my workout routing and is a great way to stay on track with my fitness goals.
Why I Chose the Peloton App
I have tried almost every workout app under the sun. Pre Covid Era, I was a Barry’s Bootcamp and boutique fitness kind of girlie and I would lift weights while I would travel for work, at the hotel gym. Once Covid hit, I did a LOT of at home workouts, my husband bought a treadmill, and it became our life – the gym is now set up in our garage…and to be completely honest I have barely stepped foot back into a gym or boutique fitness facility. I had tried the Peloton bike before but it just wasn’t my thing…till I had a miscarriage and my husband and I took a trip to Hawaii as a fun getaway/honeymoon situation and I tried the bike again. I FELL IN LOVE with CODY…hahah! The music, the laughs, it was a new way for me to work my entire body, connect with other peloton users and a new way for me to have a fitness challenge. Anyways, long story short – I got home and I purchased the bike, I started using the strength classes more, I had already used the treadmill exercises and I loved everything. I am a huge HYPE girl on music, and being able to pick classes based off of the music and pretty much having a personal trainer at my fingertips has been the best. I love that the app is for any fitness level, AND they have pregnancy/postpartum exercises which I used so much to ensure I didn’t gain any extra unnecessary pounds.
Again, the Peloton app pretty much has every kind of exercise / workout you need from recovery rides, strength training exercises, mix of cardio and HIIT workouts…you can even take an outdoor run! I personally love the peloton strength workouts, but sometimes I need something mellow like a yoga class or something body weight which makes it nice to have all the options within one app. If you want to try out the app here is a guest pass for 2 months free!
Using a Workout Planner
To stay consistent I have set myself up with a weekly workout planner. I print this out every week and I have the type of workouts I want to complete for a given day to keep up on my fitness routine and give myself a reminder that different types of workouts are needed to get the type of gains I want. It is the best way for me to track the number of days I am working out, and having active recovery day or days to keep myself moving lightly. I am the type of person that likes to have everything printed out, that allows me to right notes on the page of either my favorite instructor, specific goals for the week, or what weights I used so that I can pick heavier weights the week or weeks after. I have seen better results for my body and it has kept me accountable by having a weekly plan.
Workout Equipment for Peloton Workouts

I personally don’t think you need the Peloton equipment to use their app and get a great workout. I opted for the bike because it made sense to me you can buy the bike on Amazon here or from their website directly here (you will get a $100 off from the bike or tread with that referral link).
Here are my Amazon picks for workout equipment you can use with the Peloton App:
You may already have a yoga mat at home or dumbbells, the best part is a lot of the workouts you don’t even need equipment! At times in the yoga classes they do say you’ll need a block or blanket, I already have yoga blocks so I just use those and when I need a blanket or a bolster I use what I have around the house!
My journey with the Peloton app and how it has transformed my workout routine for the better. With the help of a printable weekly calendar and some determination, I was able to mix up my workouts and incorporate more variety and balance into my fitness routine. And let me tell you, the results have been amazing – both physically and mentally. It is nice to have that sense of community on the leaderboard and lately I have been working out with my BFF who is in a different state, which makes it more fun! My husband sends me his favorite classes and we see what classes our friends have taken and take those too!
